About the Program
Take a journey into Spanish language and its cultures through the magical world of music.
With Canta y Baila Conmigo you and your child will be transported as you sing, dance and play to the irresistible sounds and rhythms of Spanish speaking countries.
Canta y Baila Conmigo is a unique curriculum with dual, complimentary goals of music education and language immersion. Designed for beginners and native speakers alike, CyBC creates a playful, interactive atmosphere where language learning is integrated naturally and organically in the musical experience.
Classes are conducted entirely in Spanish by experienced teacher/musicians. Each semester features a collection of carefully selected folk classics, familiar children’s songs, and new adaptations of traditional songs and rhymes. Along with the take-home CD and digital download of materials, families receive a songbook containing Spanish lyrics, sheet music, cultural notes and an English Language Supplement for families learning Spanish.
Like Music Together , CyBC is a music and movement class for children 0-6 and their adult caregivers. It is designed to be accessible to all families, regardless of native language, musical background, ethnicity, age or ability level.
The beautiful Family Songbook with accompanying music CD, and digital download and streaming option is a key component of our curriculum. Each family receives a set of these materials every semester, so that the learning and grooving can continue at home. In addition, registered families have access to the Family Playground, which offers additional family support materials as well as fun “extras” for kids.

What makes Canta y Baila Conmigo different from other language programs?
Many programs teach vocabulary using songs. We pride ourselves in teaching language through music. We take music education seriously, and we present it in the context of language immersion.

Una clase para niños hasta los 5 años acompañados por un adulto. Esta clase está diseñada para fomentar tanto el desarrollo del idioma español como la destreza cultural de los niños a través de canciones infantiles y música tradicional de España y Latinoamérica. Es ideal para familias bilingües que buscan un ámbito auténtico donde compartir en español con sus niños así como con otros miembros de la comunidad hispanoparlante.
Esta clase se ofrece completamente en español para crear una experiencia de inmersión total. Sin embargo, la clase no está limitada a personas con completa fluidez en español. Estudiantes principiantes e intermedios del idioma que quieran aprender junto con sus niños podrán disfrutar de un ambiente divertido, seguro y acogedor donde envolverse en el idioma y las tradiciones musicales del mundo hispano. Los participantes recibirán un cancionero y CD creado especialmente para cada sesión.
The Music...
This Fall Canta y Baila Conmigo brings you "Chequi morena" (Shake it, Morena) which will take you to a wonderful world of story and adventure. Every session features a new Canta y Baila Conmigo collection of folk classics, familiar children's songs, and new adaptations of traditional songs and rhymes. The music is authentic! The repertoire has been carefully chosen to represent a wide variety of Spanish-speaking regions and cultures, including Andean, Mexican, Afro-Hispano, Caribbean, Castilian, Argentine, and more.
In addition to the Spanish songbook, you’ll get an English language supplement that includes song translations, vocabulary, and grammar tips for those who are learning the language.

About the Teacher, Diana Davidson
We are so lucky to be able to partner with Diana Davidson to bring this class to our families! Diana, a life-long singer and dancer born in Mexico City, holds an M.Ed. from the University of Virginia in Curriculum and Instructional Design and a BA from the University of California, Los Angeles in World Arts and Cultures. Diana worked as a bilingual and Spanish Immersion elementary school teacher for 10 years in San Diego, Salinas, and Arlington, VA. She has many years of experience working with children ages 0-10 in areas of art, language instruction, music, fitness, and dance. She is a certified Canta y Baila Conmigo teacher and has been teaching the program since 2016. Diana also successfully completed the Music Together Teaching Workshop developed by the Center for Music and Young Children, Princeton, New Jersey in Alexandria, Virginia in 2007 and her Music Together Certification Level 1 in 2013. Diana is the proud mom of two singing-dancing daughters ages 15 and 10.
